Mr. Gerald Clodfelter

A local Iredell County resident, I graduated South Iredell HS in 1972.  After attending Catawba Valley Community College, I started my career at Bellsouth working on specialized equipment throughout NC. A few years later I transferred to the construction division for Bellsouth as a lineman and finished my career as a cable splicer until I retired in 2004.

During my employment with Bellsouth I was a volunteer fireman with Troutman Fire and Rescue.  I have held the office of Assistant Chief and for fifteen years as Chief of Troutman Rescue.
I was also Chief of the NC Task Force 1 (an Urban and Search Rescue team) for seven years. I became a certified fire instructor by the Office of State Fire Marshall and have been teaching for Mitchell Community College, Catawba Valley Community College, Cleveland Community and Western Piedmont Community College part time since 1991.  After retiring from BellSouth in 2004 I went to work as paid Engineer/ Firefighter for the City of Conover until I came to CATS as the Fire Technology Instructor in 2011.

I am married to Karen Berry and we have two children and four grandchildren.
