    About Me
I'm excited to be starting my 3rd year at West High. This year I will be teaching Creative writing/Myths and Legends, grammar and comp and English 1 (inclusion as well as Honors) classes. Along with that, I am the advisor for the Interact Club! Ask me about it if you like volunteer work!
    A little about my background...
I was born in Cherry Point, North Carolina and moved to Michigan when I was two.  I spent many summers and holidays in Florida with my dad, chasing alligators and playing roller hockey everyday. Also, I cant forget hanging out at the beach. However, Michigan is where I grew up and matured.
I went to many different schools and experienced many different teaching styles and friends along the way. I ended up in Onsted, where I stayed on the honor roll and joined in a few sports. I had done gymnastics for around 10 years and had to quit when I moved. I joined cross country where I started our middle school program. I ran through both my middle and high school career. I have been on the Dream Team twice, All-State 3 times in cross country and once in track. I was very honored to receive the Senior Honors Certificate for the County my last year in Onsted. I then received a scholarship to a Division 1 University.
I graduated with a Bachelor in Science of Education in English from Arkansas State University. I had tried many different majors including: zoology, biology, early childhood, physical education and psychology. I really enjoyed job shadowing at the fire department for a year and learning the basics of the police department.
My hobbies include anything athletic or artistic. Specifics are mountain biking, rock climbing, Ultimate frisbee, camping, fishing, painting, reading, taking in stray animals and just having fun. I am the cross country coach as well as one of the track coaches which I really enjoy.

I am very honored to have such wonderful students who have nominated me JROTC's TEACHER OF THE YEAR in 2011 AND now, 2012! Thank you!!
