ENG III & IV
To influence the growth, knowledge, and skills of my students. I hope, through encouragement and guidance, to foster an understanding of the importance of education, the need for lifelong learning skills, and a knowledge base in reading and writing that will be beneficial to students indefinitely.
I am a native of Statesville. I graduated from West Iredell High school in 1995. My husband and I have three children. I have been involved in both public and private schools in volunteer and part-time positions while also being available to our children as a fulltime mom. When our youngest child began school, I went back to school, attaining my Bachelor's in English Degree from UNC Charlotte. I am currently working toward my Master's Degree in English.
When I am not in the classroom, I am most often running kids to and from sports, reading, or teaching Bible studies. I love being with my family, our church family, coffee, and naps! My other interests include writing (fiction and non-fiction), drawing, computers, and photography, Duke basketball, and women's college softball. I also enjoy the nice cool breeze of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the sounds of waves crashing on the banks of Oak Island.
"Before any great things are accomplished, a memorable change must be made in the system of education…to raise the lower ranks of society nearer to the higher." - John Adams
