My name is Roxanne Coffey and I am SO excited to teach kindergarten this year! This is my second year of teaching. Last year, I taught 5th grade here at Woodland Heights. I am so lucky and fortunate to continue learning and growing as a professional and as a Woodland Heights Hawk! I graduated from Appalachian State University and received my Bachelor's Degree and Certification to teach grades kindergarten-sixth. GO MOUNTAINEERS! I was also a finalist for the Reich College Of Education Student Teacher Of The Year Award for Appalachian State University's Education Program. Thank you so much, parents, for letting me instruct your little one in kindergarten. It is going to be such a fantastic year!
Aside from teaching, I love to visit family and friends. I have two younger sisters and they are my entire world! I also enjoy baking and watching thriller movies. In my free time, I enjoy staying active and shopping (clothes, shoes, jewelry, makeup... you name it.)
My Classroom Mission Statement:
In kindergarten, we are here to learn, grow and try our personal best. We will work hard, use 21st Century Skills to aid our learning, treat everyone with kindness and respect, and reflect on our strengths and needs in order to become strong readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists.
