    Mission Statement

It is my mission to provide a caring, encouraging and supportive learning environment where students will develop as mathematical thinkers.  Students will engage in activities that encourage collaboration and communication. Meeting individual needs is a top priority. I will provide differentiated learning opportunities to meet learning needs throughout the school year. I believe all students can be successful and have the ability to learn high levels of math.

    About Me

I earned my BS in Elementary Education at Miami University (of Ohio) and continued on to gain my MEd at the University of Virginia.  During the first part of my teaching career, I taught grades K-6 in Ohio, Virginia, Washington, and New York. I am excited to be continuing my work in the classroom teaching 6th-grade math at Mt. Mourne School.

When I am not teaching you can find me with my busy family.  My husband, Mike, and I have 4 children. Jonathan is in 5th grade, Lily is in 8th at Mt. Mourne, Jacob is a sophomore at South Iredell HS in the IB program and Abby will be a senior at SIHS in the IB program.  Having been an IB parent for 4 years, I am a strong supporter of the IB program and have seen the positive impact it has had on my children.

Course information will be available during the school year on my Canvas page. I look forward to the 2018-19 school year.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
