    My Classroom Mission

Learning a second language takes time and dedication, but the rewards that come with mastering a new language are numerous. My classroom mission is to encourage young learners to devote their time and effort to learning English as a Second Language. Language is a powerful tool that opens many doors on the way to personal, academic, and professional success. My personal mission is to empower ESL students to use English with confidence.

    Teaching Experience

This is my second year teaching ESL at Harmony Elementary. Before Harmony Elementary, I taught ESL at East Iredell Middle and Northview IB.

I love learning new languages. My native language is Ukrainian, but I am also fluent in Russian, have reading proficiency in German, basic understanding of Polish, and am learning Spanish. I value diversity and I enjoy being around people from different countries and getting to know more about their cultures and ways of living.

Previously, I taught adult ESL classes at Davidson County Community College for 4 years and English as a Foreign Language and Translation Studies classes at Ternopil Pedagogical Univeristy in Ukraine for 5 years.

I was also a Fulbright Scholarship recipient in 2006-2008 and had a wonderdul opportunity to meet scholars from over 150 countries. Those two years were very beneficial for my professional and personal growth as I learned to be open-minded and receptive to the ideas that are different from mine.
