My Classroom Mission
I aim to have a classroom that asks for active, reflective, and creative learning. I believe that everyone can learn, become better thinkers and independent learners. I expect all of my students to ask many questions, seek many answers, make thoughtful decisions, and ALWAYS do their best!
I am a former resident of Avery County, NC. I attended Appalachian State University where I received my BA in English, and minored in Spanish and Applied Linguistics. During my last semester of college, I participated in an internship teaching English as a second language to high schoolers. I loved it! Due to my new-found interest in teaching, I went back to school immediately after graduation to study education. I truly enjoy language and literature, and the roles they play in our lives. It is also my experience that high schoolers are bright, fun, and energetic. Therefore, teaching high school English is a perfect fit for me.
