Choral music study involves listening, describing, and evaluating music. All Statesville High choral ensembles learn and perform a variety of musical styles including classical, popular, musicals, madrigal, seasonal, sacred, and secular.Furthermore, the SHS choral program is devoted to instilling self-discipline, performance conduct, teamwork and responsibility in students while inspiring them to discover their connection with music.Students will be provided with enriching experiences in music that support the state and district standards. Through varied musical experiences and opportunities, personal and social growth of chorus members will be cultivated, strengthening self-esteem accomplishment and pride.About MeAs a native of Iredell county, I received my education from North Iredell High school and am also a product of the VPAC performing arts program at Statesville High as a participant in private vocal training and Blue and Grey singers.I continued my passion for music at Greensboro College as a Vocal Major where I was dedicated to chamber choir, chorale, opera workshop, marching band, and cheerleading. Alongside with choral singing, opera and musical theater performances were incorporated in my education as I played the roles of Carlotta "Phantom of the Opera", La Ciesca (Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi"), Dorothy "The Wizard of Oz", Bombalurina (select scenes from "Cats"), Mayzie "Seussical", and Marty "Grease". In my spare time at Greensboro College I was able to join the marching band's color guard and my Senior year I had the opportunity to be a GC Pride cheerleader!I began my teaching career two years ago as the chorus teacher at Statesville Middle School and I am excited for my new adventure here at SHS!
