                                           My Classroom Mission

The mission of the JROTC program is to motivate young people to become better citizens. JROTC focuses on six core areas, citizenship, leadership, fitness, life skills, geography and American History. The cadets will develop core competencies in the areas of critical thinking, teamwork, time management and citizenship in support of future success upon graduation from NIHS. The cadets meet for one block each day and receive one elective credit per semester. Cadets can participate on one of the four JROTC extracurricular teams – Raider Challenge Team, Rifle Team, Drill & Ceremony Team, or Orienteering. These teams are tough but fun in the spirit of competition. Additionally, the teams are very rewarding as the cadets routinely compete against other schools in the 4th BDE JROTC program.

                                                     About Me

I’m from Philadelphia, PA, and I served 26 years on Active Duty in the U.S. Army. I hold an Associate’s Degree from Barton College, Great Bend Kansas; a Bachelor’s Degree from Excelsior College, Albany N.Y. My last Active Duty assignment was Jacksonville State University where I served as a Senior Military Instructor of the ROTC program. Working with young people is a great experience in which I enjoy inspiring them to reach their maximum potential. I look forward to working with the cadets and their parents of North Iredell High School.
