     About Me
This is my third year teaching first grade. I can't wait to get to know you and your children!  I graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in Upstate New York in 2014. At SUNY Plattsburgh I was lucky enough to be able to graduate with my Bachelors in Education, and my Masters in Special Education. I student taught 6th grade and 2nd grade in East Harlem, and spent 6 months living in the Bronx. I was able to intern across all different environments and  classrooms  and work with many different and special children.
I moved down here in August of 2014 to be closer to my family who had moved down here previously. In doing so, I accepted a job teaching NC PreK fresh out of college. After teaching there for a year, I so humbly accepted a fifth grade position here at Woodland Heights. I was very fortunate to be able to switch grade levels my second year. My heart has always been with the younger children, and I have been loving every second of it.
With moving down here and finding a great job, I also got married. I have been married for almost three years and I have three furbabies! I have two lab mix dogs, Oakley and Octavia, and I have one cat, Olivia. My husband and I, wanting to have a family but not sure where to go in life, became foster parents this past year. This has probably been the most amazing journey that we have been on, and I love being able to give a loving home to children who need it.
I love watching football and Nascar on the weekends with my husband and family, and I enjoy playing guitar with my brother whenever I can find the time! I have 4 siblings ranging in ages from 22-3. :0 I am thankful for all the life experiences that I have been given, and can't wait to see how the rest of the year goes!
