    My Classroom Mission

In eighth grade North Carolina History  we will use a variety of methods to learn about the history of our state and our country. Students will be successful through differentiation of classroom instructional methods geared toward their interests and levels of academic ability. Growth will be measured through a variety of assessments including daily teacher evaluations, common classroom assessments, district benchmark assessments, and the North Carolina Final Exams in social studies. Students will be expected to come to class daily ready to learn, prepared with the necessary materials for success, and a willing and receptive attitude toward learning.

    About Me
I am a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Sciences and Secondary Education, and minors in Political Science, Sociology, and Psychology. I hold NC Highly Qualified teaching licensure in social studies (grades 6-12), English/Language Arts (grades 6-9), and Academically & Intellectually Gifted (grades K-12). I am a veteran teacher with 22 years experience teaching, primarily at the middle school level. Outside of school, I  enjoy training and riding horses, photography, hiking, reading, and spending time at the beach. I live with my husband on the Brushy Mountains in the Moravian Falls community of Wilkes County.
