I am looking forward to having a great fifth year at North Iredell High School.

    My Classroom Mission

We are here to succeed and make a positive impact on the world. We will think critically and ask relevant questions. We will questions how the world works and use science to investigate our questions. We will do the work assigned to the best of our abilities. We are here to learn so we can use that knowledge to contribute to the knowledge of the world.

    About Me

I am the proud mother of two children. My son graduated from North Carolina State University in May and my daughter is now a freshman there. I have been teaching for over twenty years. I have a bachelors in zoology and a masters of life science with a focus in microbial genetics from North Carolina State University along with a doctorate of education in higher education from Western Carolina.

In the fall semester TJ Brinkman will be joining my classroom as a student teacher. TJ is a senior at UNC Charlotte majoring in biology with a minor in education.

I am teaching a college class for Mitchell Community college during second period this year so I don't have a planning period. I will answer emails between classes and return phone calls after school. I am sorry my availability is slightly reduced this year but I am thrilled to be able to offer students the chance to earn college credit during the regular school day.

    Classroom Supplies
Students should have a three ring binder, notebook paper, pens, pencils, and a small composition book in class each day along with a charged computer. Notecards and colored pencils can be useful but are not required. I always appreciate donations of tissues and hand sanitizer.
