My Classroom Mission
My mission is to enthusiastically empower my students with the ability to believe in themselves and their individual gifts to be the best person they can be, in and outside of the classroom. I will foster a great sense of community in my classroom with mutual respect that will lead to positive choice making, risk taking, problem solving and ownership. I will lay a foundation that will foster a desire and excitement for learning that will stay with your child throughout his/her academic life without the fear of failure or lack of acceptance. Through the use of projects, hands-on-activities, technology and cooperative learning, I will do my part to encourage and motivate each of my students. My mission is to guide my students to reach their full potential.
The students of Mrs. Spataro's Class promise to try our best to be helpful members of our classroom community. We will come to school each day prepared and ready to learn. We will remember to respect our teachers and each other. Most of all we will have fun learning!
My name is Dina-Marie Spataro and I am very excited to be teaching at Woodland Heights Elementary School this year. I have been a teacher for fifteen years and have loved and continue to love every minute of it!
Five years ago my family and I moved from New York to Mooresville. We love living life by the lake. I am married and have two wonderful sons. My oldest child attends Lake Norman High School and my younger son is a student at Brawley Middle School. I live very close to our school so I hope to see you in the neighborhood. Some of my favorite places to visit are the Mooresville Library and Dairy Queen.
Once again, I would like to thank all the parents for allowing me to teach the most precious little person in your life. I look forward to a fantastic school year filled with many wonderful experiences and learning opportunities!
