    My Classroom Mission

My mission is to inspire students to think critically and historically in their everyday lives
    About Me
     Mr. Roseman and Family
Hey, I'm Mr. Roseman and I absolutely love being a teacher. When I was a high school student I loved getting to know my teachers. One of my all time favorites was Mr. Gatton (recently retired from WIHS). He was the only teacher who ever explained math in a way that I could understand it. He also clearly cared about his students and went above and beyond to help (including tutoring me on his own time when I was in pre-cal with a different teacher). After seeing what he was like, I decided that's what I wanted to do! I noticed that many of my teachers were the same way, and my inspiration grew.
This is my 11th year teaching Social Studies in Iredell-Statesville Schools, and I've been at South since January 2014. This year I teach AP US History (APUSH) and IB History of the Americas HL1. As of 2018 I am a reader for the APUSH exam, which means I'm committed to growing as a professional and I know what is expected of students on the writing portion of the College Board Exam. I'm a product of Iredell-Statesville (West High class of 2001). From there I went on to North Carolina State University as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow where I earned a Bachelor's degree in History.
Outside of school, I spend most of my time with my wife and three children. I'm also an avid cyclist and love to read any great book I can get my hands on.
