My name is Tim Ivey, and I am the proud principal of South Iredell High School, what I consider to be the greatest high school in the entire world. South Iredell is truly an outstanding place, and continues to out perform its competition both academically and athletically. I am very proud of all of the incredible students, staff, and community members who contribute to this success and look forward to our continued achievements.
As many of you know, I first began working at South Iredell as an Assistant Principal from 2007 to 2010. I was then asked to take a district position as the Project Director for the federally-funded Small Learning Communities (SLC) initiatives that helped redesign the other high schools and implement programs similar to those utilized here at South. In April of 2012, I was appointed the principal of Northview, an IB World School and continued in that role until returning to South in July of 2013, which I consider home.
I consider South my home not only because I started my administrative career here, but also because I grew up in and around the South campus during my father, Franklin Ivey’s, tenure as principal from 1974 until 1981. Mostly what makes South feel like home is the students, teachers, staff, and families who make up the Viking Nation. I continue to be impressed by the people we have in this community and how incredibly warm and welcoming everyone is. Your dedication and commitment to our school is also unparalleled, and I am honored to be part of this amazing team.
To let you know a little bit more about me, I am a Statesville High School graduate. Most of my teaching career was at West Iredell High School where I taught English and coached cross country and track. Most proudly, I am a father of two, Ethan and Marabel, and a husband of Windy Ivey.
Below is my email and contact information. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need any assistance.
Thank you again for all that you do to make South iredell High School the ultimate educational, extra curricular, and athletic experience.
