Welcome and Thank you for visiting my web page. I am a tenth year teacher and starting my nineth year at Troutman Elementary.. I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grades, but fifth grade has been my favorite.
My goal for your child this year is to do all I can to get them ready for middle school and the years beyond.
Our Classroom Mission
We are here to pass the EOGs and get prepared for middle school so we can one day go to college and get a good job to be independent, providing for ourselves.
To do this, we need to stay on top of our work, work hard, listen and follow directions, come on time, and be prepared.
Also, Ms. Thompson needs to work with us, train and guide us, to help us understand our strengths and weaknesses so that we can become our best selves.
I am the second oldest out of seven children whose ages range from 37 years old to 10 years old. Now you can guess at how old you believe I am. My siblings, in order by age, are Nathan, myself, Bryson, Christopher, Tyler, Bo, and Sara Grace. I have two dogs who I love dearly because they are my children. Mable, a loving Great Dane, and Roxi, my little mutt that I literally bought out of the pet store window.
I received my bachelors degree from Appalachian State University in December 2007 and received my masters degree from Gardner-Webb University in December 2011.
Some things that I love...
I love to learn new things and new hobbies. I LOVE Chocolate, Coffee, and new ideas of books to read. I love to laugh and be outside doing just about anything. I love to read, listen to many genres of music, sing, and cook.
But most importantly, I love to learn, teach, and grow. There's no better profession to do that in than to teach. I hope that this year, we can all learn from each other, and use ours gifts to go beyond where we thought we could. It's going to be an awesome year at TES!
