    About Me

I was born, and raised, in Morganton, North Carolina.  I graduated from Freedom High School in 2002.  After earning a degree in psychology from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, I later received a graduate certificate in education from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  In recent years, I have taken courses at Western Piedmont Community College, and The University of California at Berkeley, to supplement my historical content knowledge.
I am passionate about education, my students, and my subject.  I have a thirst for knowledge about the world around me, and I thoroughly enjoy trying my very best to inspire that in others. Helping others find their passion is one of my own, and this is a major reason that I have always been attracted to teaching.
Outside of school I enjoy reading about almost anything, but especially the social sciences. Basketball, hiking, boxing, video games, and volunteering are all hobbies of mine.
