    My Classroom Mission

My mission at Lakeshore Middle is to help you be the most successful student that you can possibly be.  I will strive to help you go farther in math than you thought possible.  I will encourage, support, and push you to be the best that you can be.  You will feel safe to take risks and gain confidence while learning from mistakes.  Together, we will make this a super successful year!

    About Me

I was born and raised in Newton, NC in the Startown area.  I graduated from Fred T. Foard High School in Vale, NC.  I received a B.A. in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Math and Science from UNC-Charlotte. (Go 49'ers!!!)  I am currently working on my Master's degree through UNCC.  This is my fifteenth year at Lakeshore.  I spent ten years teaching 6th grade at W.I.M.S. in Statesville prior to coming to LMS.
I am married and have two wonderful sons, Trevor and Hunter.  Trevor is entering his 2nd year at NCSU and Hunter is a senior at LNHS.  We have a dog named Dixie.  She is a mix between an Irish Wolfhound and something else.  She loves to play fetch.  In what little free time I do have, I enjoy family outings, biking, whitewater rafting, scrapbooking, camping (NOT in a tent), and traveling.
Here are some of my "favorites":  Italian food, peanut butter, chocolate, suspense books and movies, sunning on the beach and snorkeling in Aruba, boating on Lake Norman, white water rafting on the Gauley in West Virginia, and chasing fireflies and frogs at dusk with my boys (when they were much younger of course).
I hope you have gained a bit of insight into who I am.  I look forward to learning more about you!
