    CLASSROOM MISSION STATEMENT

Our English I class focuses on improving skills related to reading, writing, analyzing texts and responding to them. We do so by studying units of non-fiction, fiction, poetry, and plays while working on grammar and composition throughout the year.

    ABOUT ME

I have 12 years teaching experience, and this is my 4th year at Lake Norman High School.  I am originally from College Park, Maryland and have a B.S. in Secondary Education from the University of Maryland and a Master's Degree from UNCC.  I have been a LNHS Wildcat fan for several years as my oldest 3 children graduated from Lake Norman and my youngest child is a senior at the school. My husband Chris coaches the LNHS girls' lacrosse team.

     TUTORING

I am available during Smart Lunch for extra help.  My Smart Lunch schedule is posted outside my classroom and inside the doorway.

    CLASS EXPECTATIONS

We will work daily to achieve a class where everyone is respectful to themselves and others and working to their best ability. We will accomplish this by being kind to one another, asking questions, bringing our materials and participating.
