Welcome to my ClassroomKimberly Greer
I have completed my first year of teaching at Third Creek Elementary and it has been an AWESOME year for me and for my fabulous students. I have come to love my wonderful Kindergarten Team and now consider them family. I truly have enjoyed getting to know all of my other co-workers and now consider them friends and my school family. I am in awe of my caring and hardworking Administrative Team. I have come to adore all of the children, especially our babies on the Kindergarten hall. We truly have something special here at Third Creek Elementary and I am so happy to be a part of the magic that is being made here. Have a great summer everyone. Looking forward to another GREAT school year in August. My Classroom Mission
I believe that all children can learn and deserve a right to an education no matter what the circumstance. Each child learns differently and develops differently. We need to tap into how the child learns the best and use that to help guide them and provide them with the necessary tools to be successful learners. I believe children learn by hands on learning, discovering, working through problems, and by just diving right in an figuring out how something works and how you can make it work. I want to challenge each child to work to the best of their ability and to lay the foundation for them to grow and reach for the next higher level. I want all children to become 21st Century Learners and to use higher order thinking skills in their daily lives.About Me
I received my Associates Degree in Child Development from Mitchell Community College. I moved on to obtain my Bachelors Degree at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Child and Family Intervention and my K-6 License from Gardner-Webb University. My education and experience allows me to understand how children develop and learn and to know what is developmentally appropriate for students and to follow best practice in my experiences and teaching. I believe that every child can learn but must do so in their own way and at their own pace with guidance from their teachers, parents, and other influential people in their lives. I want to be that teacher that motivates each child to do his or her best and that encourages them to be successful.I was born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKEYES, CLEVELAND BROWNS, & CLEVELAND INDIANS) and moved to North Carolina in 1994. I am not a huge fan of snow or cold weather so I am quite content living here in the south.I have three sons that graduated from Statesville High School (YEAH Greyhounds!!!). I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was in Elementary School and was impacted so greatly by my own teachers.
