    Our Classroom Mission
Our mission is to learn and grow into successful students ready for 3rd grade at the end of the year. We will work as a class family to help each other succeed.

    Reading Goals
Our goal is to be reading on a level N by the end of the school year. Our goal is also to become competent, proficient, confident readers.

    Math Goals
Our goal is to score an 80% or higher on the Math Benchmark 4. Our goal is also to become competent, confident, and skilled mathematicians.

    About Our Classroom
Your child will not be learning in a typical classroom. They will learning in a desk-less classroom! Students will have the choice to choose where they sit. They will have access to stability balls, KORE Wobble stools, cushions, a few desks, a standing station, and the classroom carpet. While it will take some getting used to; students will be excited to learn in a classroom with seating that meets their needs.

    My Legacy
I want my students to be better after they met me than they were before they knew me.  I want to be the light that leads my students down a path that they never thought was possible. I want my students to know that I am not perfect, but I love them perfectly.
"A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.” ~Luke 6:40

    About Me
This is my seventh year teaching and I couldn't be happier to be a member of the East family! This is my 6th year teaching at East. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am currently pursuing National Board Certification. National Board Certification is a voluntary, advanced teaching credential that goes beyond state licensure. NBC has national standards for what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do. The National Board certifies teachers who successfully complete its rigorous certification process.

I am SO excited to have your child in my class! I look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and FUN!
I am originally from Mooresville and I graduated from South Iredell High School in 2003. I live in Statesville with my husband Tony, our daughter Maddilyn, and our son Luke. We love to kayak, canoe, whitewater raft, ride 4 wheelers, fish, swim, cook, and spend time with our family.
