My Classroom Mission
My mission is to engage children in the art of language and spark an interest in reading and writing so that my students can become productive and critical thinking members of society.
A North Carolinian native, I graduated from South Iredell High School in 2007 and graduated from Appalachian State University in 2012 with a degree in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Language Arts and Social Studies, as well as a minor in Music.
I love to read fantasy novels, hike in the Appalachian Mountains any chance that I get, playing with my dogs, or just be outside out in the sun! I am very eclectic and will try to put that energy into my classroom. My classroom is very energetic and is always on the move. My mission is make a classroom where students can feel safe to express themselves while exploring the endless possibilities that reading can open to readers.
