    My Classroom Mission
Our mission has several facets: to become better, more thorough readers and writers, to engage in higher level thinking, to read complex and interesting texts, and to prepare ourselves for the English II EOC. Ultimately, we will work to prepare students for college or careers, both of which will require critical thinking and the ability to read and write well. I will push my students to think and complete tasks more independently through our studies of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama.

Hello and welcome to AP Language and Composition. This is my sixth year at Lake Norman High School, but I have worked several additional years at other schools. I look forward to getting to know each of you better. I am a native of Iredell County and I love working at Lake Norman High School. I am an alumnus of the beautiful Winthrop University and completed my Bachelor of Arts and my Master of Arts in English there. I love reading old (and sometimes new) books, taking last minute road trips, spending time with my friends and family, dabbling in photography, and traveling. I come from a family of teachers and I love working at LNHS.
I’ve traveled alone to Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, taught photography to students in Haiti after the earthquake, and flew (with a pilot) in a hot air balloon competition. I am also an AVID college basketball fan (Go Heels!). This summer I got to visit China!
