• Collaborative College for Technology and Leadership (CCTL) Weather Policy

CCTL is an Iredell-Statesville School that exists on a community college campus. In the event of inclement weather, you need to check both Iredell-Statesville Schools (ISS) information and Mitchell Community College (MCC) information.

ISS makes the decision based on safe bus travel throughout the county. MCC looks at main roads and the safe condition on the campus.

When Iredell Statesville Schools goes on a delay, early dismissal, or cancellation, CCTL does the same.

If ISS is closed, no buses will run and all high school classes are canceled, but MCC may still be holding classes.

If MCC is closed, all CCTL and Mitchell classes are canceled.

If ISS is closed and MCC is not, students are expected to get to their college classes by their own means, or use that absence as one of the absences that they would be allowed by the professor's syllabus.

In the case of a delay, high school classes will be shortened, but all classes will meet. If MCC delays, classes are canceled that were meeting during that time, but if your class would be meeting beyond the delay, you are expected to be in the class. For example: if MCC announced a two-hour delay, MCC classes start at 8:00 so any class that began and ended between 8:00 and 10:00 are cancelled, but if you had a class that started at 9:00 and ended at 10:30, you would be expected to show up for that class at 10:00 for the last 30 minutes of that class.

On days when CCTL is in session and ISS is not, CCTL will call about delays or closures since it only applies to CCTL, not the rest of ISS. All other days you will receive notification from ISS.
