The overall mission in the Health Science Education classroom is to educate the student regarding the many facets of the health care industry. Emphasis is placed on professional appearance as well as professional actions.
I have been a Warrior as long as West Iredell High School has been in existence--I actually graduated from West Iredell in the first graduating class (Class of 1975). I graduated from Davis School of Nursing in May, 1978 as a RN, and enjoyed working on the Pediatric unit of Davis Hospital. While our children were young, I was a "stay-at-home" mom and like to say that I helped to manage our own "pediatric unit". In January, 1997, I began to teach at West High in "health occupations"....now known as Health Science Education. I love what I do, and find great reward in seeing young people become better at and more comfortable with skills that they will use the rest of their lives.
As of August, I have been married to Benny Johnson for 41 years. We have 3 adult children, Angela, David and Chris, and 3 wonderful grandsons, Kyle, Micah, and Willie and 2 wonderful granddaughters, Emma and Eva. The grandchildren range in age from almost 11 months to 6 years old. I also must add that there is a very special 4 legged "person" at our house--my black cat Lucky who is now 14 years old!
