My personal mission is to involve myself in the total classroom environment and provide knowledge and life experiences to encourage students of all educational abilities to listen, think, and learn.
In the classroom, my mission is to teach the curriculum in a manner that is understandable to every student, regardless of educational ability, and to challenge each student to use all available resources to exceed the standard expectations set forth by the school system and the state of North Carolina.
I am a true "People Person." I enjoy the total school environment and the opportunities to assist the students and my peers. I was a non- traditional college student, having waited until the age of 29 to begin my formal education at Mitchell Community College. Upon receiving my associates degree from Mitchell, I transferred to Catawba College in Salisbury, NC and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education in May , 1996. My first teaching job was at Corriher-Lipe Middle School in Landis, NC as a special education teacher. I soon enrolled in the graduate program at UNCC in order to attain my masters degree in Special Education. I was awarded the degree in May, 2000. This is my twenty first year in education. I have taught and coached in three other school systems in those previous sixteen years. I have made myself a new home this year as part of the Knight Family at East Middle. I teach 7th grade math along with Mrs. Goodin. I will be head coach of wrestling in the winter. I also am the First Responder for Statesville Greyhound football. I am married to Denise Morrison. On September 6, 2015, we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We are active members of Western Avenue Baptist Church.
