    About Me

A transplanted northerner from Massachusetts,  I was born and grew up in a small, rural, very typical New England town.  Wanting to venture out into the "real" world, I chose a college 500 miles from home.  I graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. with a  Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. My professional experience has been in nursing.  During my last two years of college I was in AFROTC and from there spent 4+ years on active duty with the US Air Force.  Compliments of the military, I have lived across the US and traveled the world.  My last 14 years were as an Aeromedical Evacuation Flight Nurse.  Retired from the military in 2006 after 28 years of commissioned service with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, I now just teach your children.

Reading is a great past time as well as bike riding, jump roping and enjoying the quiet of our yard. My collection of Boyd Bears continues to grow with each special event throughout the year. With 3 grown daughters, and a new grandson, my husband and I once again have "us" time plus new playtime. I love to cook and my passion for Dove Dark chocolate keeps my days going!!! This new grandson really keeps my days going every day - a wonderful joy and addition to my life.

Prior to coming to South Iredell HS, I worked for CMS at ZB Vance HS as a Health Occupations Education Teacher.  Presently at South Iredell, I  teach Health Sciences to include: Health Team Relations, Health Science I and II.  Biomedical Technology (though not 2015-2016) and Nursing Fundamentals (at the Career Academy & Technical School (CATS)) and Advance Studies, (not 2015-2016).
