• "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.  Intelligence plus character--that is the goal of true education."  M. L. King Jr.

    My Mission

To strengthen students' reading and writing skills so that they strengthen their voices.
    About Me

I have been employed by Iredell-Statesville Schools since 2000, working at SIHS, LNHS, NIHS, and now CCTL as an English teacher, freshmen advisor, writing tutor, interim Small Learning Communities Director, and Instructional Facilitator.
I grew up in Iredell-Statesville Schools, graduating from NIHS in 1996.  I graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in English, Secondary Education in 2000 as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow.

My husband Todd and I have three children: two daughters, Elleigh and Barrett, and a son, Cole.  We worship at Friendship United Methodist Church, and we have a close extended family.  I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching pee-wee basketball, reading, exercising, watching college athletics (Go App! and Go State!), cooking, and listening to live music.
