My Classroom Mission
My purpose is to facilitate learning in a way that is interesting and beneficial. My hope is that students will leave my classroom with skills that will serve them well in society and bring them personal satisfaction in achieving their goals.
National Board Certified
2015 Toby Webb NC Coach of the Year
2008 and 2017 3A NC State Champion Volleyball Coach
I am entering my 22nd year as an English teacher at NIHS. I currently teach American Literature (11th grade) and AP Language and Composition. I coached the NIHS volleyball teams for 19 years, but retired after last season. I am a faculty adviser for Future Teachers of America (FTA).
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy music/concerts and sports (outside of volleyball I spend most of my time cheering on my son, Jaxson, in basketball and baseball). I also love being outdoors: exploring nature, hiking, kayaking, etc., and fun times with family and friends.
I believe that life passes quickly; make the BEST of each day!
