Welcome to the Agriculture and Science Early College. I am excited to begin this new venture in the northern Iredell community which includes preparing these young men and young women for a college education.
My Classroom Mission
As Early College students, we will do our best to be successful in high school and in our college classes by being prepared for class each day, doing our homework, paying
attention in class, staying on-task, and asking questions.
I am a graduate of Appalachian State University... go Mountaineers. This is my 29th year of teaching English. I taught for 12 years at S.I.H.S., 15 years at N.I.H.S., and 1 year at ASEC. I enjoy teaching high school English. Your student will be challenged in this class and receive a rigorous education to prepare him/her for college-level classes.
One of my goals is to make wise use of our time in class, and I expect that your student will do the same. Unfortunately, we will also have to spend time out of class getting our goals accomplished since we only have one semester to cover all the required curriculum.
I am married to Scott and have two sons, Andrew (who will be a junior at ASU this fall) and Owen (who is enlisting in the Marine Corps July 2018). Our family enjoys church activities, traveling, sporting events, hiking, and kayaking. I also enjoy reading novels, spending time with friends and family, and going shopping.
