My mission is to help prepare students for success in the "real world." Students will learn the essential reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills necessary for success in high school, college, and the world at large. Additionally, students will gain an appreciation for literature and how novels, plays, and poetry help us examine the world and understand the human condition. I will work to help students become thinkers and life-long learners!I am a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, where I received both my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and my Teaching Credential. In 2014, I earned National Board Certification, and currently, I am pursuing my Master's Degree in Secondary Education through the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. The 2018 - 2019 school year begins my thirteenth year teaching and my eleventh year at Lake Norman High School. I truly love teaching here; it is a great school!I was born and raised in Southern California, and we moved to North Carolina in 2008. I am married and have three beautiful daughters. My oldest graduated from Chapman University in Orange, California and still lives in California. My youngest is starting her junior year, and my middle daughter is officially a senior! Some of my hobbies include reading, playing golf, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family. And, if there is a Giants Football game or an Angels Baseball game being played -- you can bet I am cheering them on!
