Kelly Greene

Welcome to Ms. Greene's fifth grade class!!
Hi, my name is Kelly Greene. I am originally from Gainesville, Florida. Being born and raised in UF territory I am a huge Gator fan! :) My mother also retired from Uf so it has always been a part of our lives. I moved to Mooresville about ten years ago and fell in love with the town immediately.
I earned my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from St Leo University. This year will be my 19th year teaching. What a fun adventure it has been! I started my career down in Florida teaching 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and middle school reading. I was also a reading coach at the middle school level. I have been here at Woodland Heights since 2008 teaching 4th grade for two years then 5th for 8 years. I love the dynamic of the fifth grade classroom. The curriculum and the age of the children have become my favorite to teach!
I have an eight year old son named Trenton that is in second grade here at WHE. In my free time I like photography, hiking, and listening to live music.
I will help your child this year as if they were my own. I approach my teaching with the midset of how would I want my son to be treated while he was away from me at school. My goal is to teach with unconditional support, a caring attitude, guidance when needed, a judgement free zone, and always assume positive intent.
I look forward to building a partnership with you to help your child be successful this year. Please keep in touch! Email will be the most effective way to contact me. I will also send out weekly emails to keep you aware of our lessons.
    :) Ms. Greene
