My Classroom Mission
My goal for all children that I see in Speech/language therapy, is to help them communicate to the best of their ability with both adults and peers in the educational environment. Students can receive speech therapy for a variety of reasons including the following: improve articulation, improve listening skills, improve receptive and expressive language skills, improve speech fluency, and improve voice quality. Teachers and parents can refer a child for a speech screening at any time, if there is a concern about how a child communicates in school. Please feel free to contact me to request a screening.
I have been an American Speech/Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) certified Speech/Language Pathologist since 1987. I am originally from Pennsylvania, but moved to North Carolina in 2000. I have had the great fortune to be working at Troutman Elementary since I moved here. In 2012, my husband and I bought a house in Troutman and I have never been happier. Troutman Elementary is my second home and family. I enjoy working with the students, collaborating with the teachers and consulting with the parents. My plans are to stay here until the day I retire!
