• Battle of the Books
          Troutman's Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for students in 4th and 5th grades. Students read books and come together to       demonstrate their abilities and test their knowledge of the books they have read. The competitions are similar in style to the TV series Family Feud. 
     
    Math Expo

     Projects entered explored mathematical ideas of interest to the student.  Some examples included:

    • Experiments in estimation, measurement, or problem-solving
    • Application of mathematics in navigation, astronomy, economics, photography, music, hobbies, etc.
    • Analysis, Trigonometry, Topology,
    • Statistics and Probability
    Science Fair
          Projects explore various elements of science and Mrs. Lester is our Science Fair chair. 
     
    Robotics
    1. Introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.
