• Welcome to Mrs. Blair & Mrs. Morrow's Class
Welcome to Mrs. Blair & Mrs. Morrow's 1st Grade Class

I would like to welcome you and your child to First Grade.  I am looking forward to working with you to provide a good foundation for your child's education. By the end of this year your child will be reading and have a basic knowledge of our Base Ten Math System. I will provide classroom and homework instruction, but the more you reinforce this at home and work with your child, the more successful your child will be. Please feel free to contact me any time at my email address above or call the school and leave me a message. I will return your call when the school day ends. Let's work together for a great year.

    Our Classroom Mission Statement
    Written by the students:

We need to learn how to add, subtract, work with numbers, do science, and most of all learn to read.  We will do this by trying our best every day and following our class rules. We will listen to Mrs. Blair and our other teachers so we can learn.

          About The Teacher

Let me introduce myself. I grew up about an hour away from Mooresville in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, I have lived in Mooresville and Troutman for 30 years now. The Lake Norman area feels more like home than Winston-Salem. I am a graduate of N.C. State University and continued my education at UNC-Charlotte, where I received my teacher's certification.

This is my 16th year at Shepherd Elementary. My first year at Shepherd I taught computer class. I have taught First Grade and also a combination First and Second Grade class here.  I have previously taught Second Grade at W.R. Odell Elementary in Cabarrus County.

On a personal note, I have just remarried and changed my name from Laseter to Blair. We live on Lake Norman. I have two grown children, Carly and John. Carly lives close by and has given me three precious granddaughters, Caroline, Caitlyn, and Claira. My son John lives in Portland, Oregon.

My hobbies include scouting our unusual things at yard sales and collecting antiques.  I also enjoy boating, kayaking, playing the piano, gardening, loving my cat Chanel and being a super Grandmother.

Again, I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year.
