My Mission as a School Counselor
I will assist all students in achieving their full academic potential by providing opportunities to enhance their emotional, social and physical well-being.
    About Me

Hello, my name is Melissa Triplett and I have been a School Counselor in Iredell County since 2003.  I earned my MA in School Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne College.
I was born and raised in Statesville, attending schools in the West Iredell area.  I was married on October 11th, 2008 to the most wonderful man (yes I am biased lol), his name is David Triplett.  In August of 2009 we were blessed with our son Zack.

I believe that there is greatness in every child.  It is up to us to help them gain the confidence in themselves and let that part of them shine through.  We do this not only by our words to them, but also by our actions, even when we think they are not watching.  Given the chance, every child can be successful.  Who are we to tell a child that they will not amount to anything when they get older?  You never know what the future holds.
Some quotes I would like to share with you are:
"Flatter me, and I may not believe you.  Criticize me, and I may not like you.  Ignore me, and I may not forgive you.  Encourage me, and I may not forget you."  (William Arthur)
"Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another."  (Walter Elliott)
"I may not be able to change the world I see around me, but I can change the way I see the world within me."  (John Maxwell)
"I believe it is our attitude that determines our altitude.  It is our attitude that allows us to soar above those things that would otherwise overcome us."  (TD Jakes)
