    Class Mission:
MYP students will become lifelong learners, problem solvers, critical thinkers, and globally minded. We will accomplish this by learning our Common Core Essential Standards and MYP objectives while practicing the MYP Approaches to Learning.
    About Me:
    Clarissa Doughtie
Welcome! I am currently in my 17th year of teaching in Iredell-Statesville Schools. As a North Carolina native, I am a huge Tarheels and Panthers fan! In my free time, I enjoy watching basketball and football, reading, and spending time with my family. I am in my 7th year at Mount Mourne School. During my time at Mount Mourne I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math and 7th grade humanities. I love being a part of the 7th grade team, and I am passionate about an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning. As a 7th grade student, you will study humanities and language arts through a series of interdisciplinary units and co-teaching experiences with myself and Mrs. Webb. Through this approach, it is our hope that you will make deeper and more meaningful connections between these subjects and their application to your life and the real world. I am looking forward to a great year!
