    Stephen Grant Meyer, Ph.D.

Remember to check homework assignments and due dates at the "Homework" link to the right.
     Current Unit:
AmHist I: Growing Pains: Geographic and Economic Development to 1860
     Building the National Road
    American History I and II
Our theme is: Development and Adaptation of an American Identity.
We focus on what kind country and people are formed out of a complex of ethnicities, races, geographies, and cultures, and how they change as they face opportunities and challenges from colonial times to today.

Students will analyze historical documents, maps, tables, and other materials to develop skills and knowledge in the discipline of the Humanities. Students will become familiar with fundamental ideas that underlie American society, culture, and government; and develop a sense of participatory citizenship. They will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including conflict resolution, that will enable them to become productive players in local, national, and global environments.
