Prior to earning my master's degree, I worked as a news reporter and as an account executive in a public relations firm. I joined the staff of West Iredell High School in July of 1996.One of my personal interests is writing fiction for young adults, and I am fortunate to serve as the advisor for the WIHS Creative Club. The club is open to all students interested in writing, illustrating and the creative process, and we welcome anyone who would like to attend. In addition to writing, I enjoy snow skiing and snowboarding, running and trying to ride my son's skateboards. One of my biggest accomplishments for the summer of 2008 was learning to surf at Ocean Isle Beach!I am married to Ed Huffman who is a science teacher at North Iredell Middle School and we have one son, Will, a student at NIMS.
