    About Mrs. Ward:
I absolutely love education and working with children!  I am starting my 18th year in Iredell-Statesville Schools.  I have been married for 17 years to Chad who teaches PE at East Iredell Middle School, and we have two sons, Jackson and Cooper.  We also have two dogs (a Boxer and a Boxer-Pit), Nacho and Redick (yes, after the former Duke player). Go Duke!
My Bachelor's degree is in Communications from Catawba College.  I am a certified Language Arts teacher for grades six through nine.  I have a Master's degree in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in English as well as an Educational Leadership degree add-on from Appalachian State University (ASU).  ASU and UNC-Charlotte is where I also obtained 18 credits of graduate English classes.  Equally important, I am National Board certified and a North Carolina certified 21st Century Literacy Coach.  My teaching experience includes six years at North Iredell Middle School teaching language arts, two years at Statesville Middle School as a Literacy Coach, one year at Northview as a Language & Aquisition teacher, and four years as the IB Coordinator and Instructional Facilitator at Northview IB.  Being a part of the Celeste Henkel family is an honor and a blessing.
     Mrs. Ward
I am looking forward to an exciting and productive 2018-19 school year at Celeste!  I am beyond excited about continuing our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) journey with a focus on the Arts and Reading as well!  Celeste has already received over $65,000 in grant money to use for our STEM initiative.  We are definitely preparing our students for SUCCESS!  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
