My mission: I will try my best to effectively teach ALL my ESL students to speak, read, write, and listen in English so they can fully function in their other academic classes.

Student Mission: Together, we will learn and grow in English Language Proficiency. We will all grow in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing through consistent practice and interaction with each other. We will learn, accept and respect each other for our differences and strive to become more knowledgeable of each others cultures.

    About Me
    Hola!~
My name is Mrs. DiFiore and this is my 14th year teaching in the Iredell-Statesville School System. I began my teaching career in ESL at West Middle and West High. I have taught at East Middle, Statesville Middle, Cool Springs Elementary and East Elementary. I am so excited to be back at West now for the fifth year in a row!! West is Best!!!

I graduated from Statesville High School, received my undergraduate degree from Appalachian State and my masters degree from Wake Forest University.

I am married to Steve DiFiore and we have five children: Steven, Nick, Courtney, Mackenzy and Isabella. I also have a beautiful daughter-in-law, Kayoua Lee. Mackenzy and Isabella are enrolled in I-SS and the others are grown up and out on their own. We also have two sweet dogs named Lizzy and Nala.

I love to travel and have traveled in Japan, nine countries in Europe and backpacked for two months in Australia. I have also visited about every state in the USA while on vacation with my family and as a summer student intern with the Thomas Nelson Publishing Company while in college.

Before becoming an ESL public school teacher, I taught English to students and adults in Fukuoka, Japan for two years and spent a ski season as a children's ski instructor at an international ski school in Leysin, Switzerland.
