Fall is here and the leaves are a beautiful shade of reds, oranges and yellows.  5th graders have started working with their recorders.  If your child still does not have a recorder or music folder they need to acquire them as soon as possible.  Recorders are available for purchase at The Music Center in Statesville, near the Signal Hill Mall and inexpensive folders are available at walmart or other retailers.  Recorder practice aids have been posted on this page and have been updated.  I apologize if anyone has been trying to access these, they had expired.  3rd, 4th & 5th grade students have started working on their PTO program material.  The December PTO program will be on December 5, 2017 at 6:30 pm in the gym at Cool Spring.  PTO program material is posted on this page to allow your child to practice outside of class.

    About Me

Hi there!  Welcome to the Cool Spring music home page.  My name is Eric Dalrymple, but everyone calls me Mr. D.  I am entering my 18th year of teaching.  This is my 10th year at Cool Spring Elementary and I am very excited about the new school year beginning.  Before arriving at Cool Spring, I taught middle and high school band for eight years.  I am originally from Murphy, North Carolina, but now I reside in Davie County.  In may of 2013, I graduated from Gardner-Webb University with an MA in Executive Leadership Studies, which prepared me to one day become an administrator.  I graduated from Western Carolina University in May of 2000, with a BS Ed. degree in music education and am also a North Carolina Teaching Fellow.  I was a four-year veteran of the "Pride of the Mountains" Marching Band, where I served as saxophone and tuba section leader and was a featured soloist.  I was also lead alto & tenor saxophonist with the WCU jazz ensemble and also performed with the wind ensemble, concert band, midi ensemble and university singers.  Since graduating from college, I have performed with the Piedmont Wind Symphony, as a percussionist, and the Statesville Community Band.  I really enjoy teaching music.  In my free time, I enjoy working in my shop on different projects and around the house.
