Assurances Sheet: CSE Assurances and Team

Cool Spring Elementary currently has about 380 students enrolled.  Our school population is comprised of 72% White, 9% African American, 13% Hispanic, 3% Asian and 2% Multi-Racial.  We have a broad range of socio-economic levels in our school, with 51% of our students on free and reduced lunch.
    Program Offerings:
Our school focuses on the Common Core Curriculum.  We use the Letterland phonics program in grades kindergarten through second grade.  Guided reading is taught in all grades with Daily 5.  Small group instruction is considered key to student achievement.  In addition, we offer Exceptional Children's Services, Robotics, Battle of the Books, School News Video Production, in-school tutoring, Reading Buddies, and Accelerated Reader. Cool Spring School focuses on the positive behavior of our students, with very few discipline referrals.  Two remediation/enrichment blocks occur during the school day, one for K-2 and one for 3-5.  This allows us to best meet the individual needs of all of our students.
Cool Spring Elementary exceeded growth and has an overall grade of B.  The school has been recognized as a top performing Title I school for two years in a row.
Our attendance last year was 96.87% with Cool Spring being #2 in the district.
