• 2019-2020 Elementary Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a competition that takes place in March between the schools in our county. The students read 15 books. The competition consists of questions stated in the format “In which book does…” The students, as a team, decide in which book the idea or event occurred and the name of the author of the book. It is a difficult and intense competition because students are required to memorize very small details in every book. Because our school takes this competition very seriously, it is important that the students read ALL 15 BOOKS.
To try out for the CSES team, students must read at the 15 books by the time we return from winter break, take an AR quiz on each of the books, be a 4th or 5th grader during the 2019-20 school year, and memorize titles/authors of the 15 books. Those students who meet previous qualifications will be given a test in January 2020. The students with the top scores will be chosen for the CSES Battle of the Books Team.
