    Mission Statement:
    The mission of Lakeshore Middle School Library is to create an atmosphere where patrons feel welcome and are empowered to become independent, effective information seekers and to encourage a love of reading and lifelong learning. 
     Iredell-Statesville School System Middle School Media Mission Statement:
    As middle school Media Coordinators, we will teach the Big 6 process, promote the use of Destiny, and collaborate with teachers in planning technology based lessons in order to meet our goal of integrating 21st Century skills in the classrooms.


    The LMS Library Media Center is open every day during all school hours.  Students may come to the library to return or check out books, read, research, or work with small groups any time with a pass from their teacher. Online ebooks are available 24 hrs a day 7 days a week through our card catalog.
    Book Check Out Policy:
     Check out limits are individualized based on each student's needs, reading habits and responsibility.
    Books may be kept for two weeks.  
    If you need more time, books may be renewed.
    See what books are available at LMS. You may also LOGIN and view what you have checked out and when your books are due. You can also view your history (all the books you have ever checked out).
    We have over 11,000 books in the LMS library.  
    Audiobooks are available through

    2. Tumblebooks online   
    1. Playaway Check out policy:
    Playaways are GREAT!  They allow you to listen to the book as you read along. 
    The average playaway costs $65, so you must have a special permission form signed by you and your parents prior to borrowing.

    Online ebooks are available 24 hrs a day 7 days a week through our card catalog and LMS login. 
    With a public library card, students have access to over 20,000 more ebooks!  
    (fiction, nonfiction, and audiobooks)
