    About the class

This will be a very exciting semester as you begin a new language!  I look forward to seeing you become able to communicate and express yourself in French!  This year, you will learn the grammar and vocabulary you need to talk about daily topics (family, school, weather, clothes, and food just to name a few!). You will also learn to read and write in French, but the main emphasis in this class will be on increasing your listening and speaking abilities.  You will also learn about the culture and customs of France and other countries where French is spoken. For chapter vocabulary and notes, please check my webpage

    About Me
I grew up in North Canton located in Northeastern Ohio.  I attended the University of Akron (Fear the Roo) and earned a BS Degree in Secondary Education, a BA in French and a minor in Art.  I taught both French and Art for 4 years before being relocated with my husband, Rick, to Orlando Florida.  While living there, I worked as an Assistant Manager at The Yankee Candle Company and Bath & Body Works until being relocated back to Ohio for a year where she returned to the French classroom.  Then the opportunity to move to North Carolina came.  I moved to Mooresville in 2002.

In 2003, I took a position at Statesville High School as an ESL teacher and earned an add-on license to teach English as a Second Language.  After ten years there, I decided to return to her passion to teach French at Northview IB.  The past two years, I also taught French part-time at East Iredell Middle and South Iredell High School.  Now I am very excited to be a part of the Mount Mourne faculty and hope to ignite a passion for the French language and culture there.

While not teaching, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband and son, Cole who is a rising Senior in the SIHS IB Programme.  We are very active in Boy Scout Troop 171, where Cole earned rank of Eagle.  I also train Tae Kwon Do at the RT Berry School where I earned 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2015 and am halfway toward 3rd degree.
