About Me: I am Dr. Abe Senbel. I am originally from Casablanca, Morocco but the United States has been my home for over 30 years now. I first came to the USA in 1985 to work with a non-profit organization in Statesville, NC. We operated shelters for homeless people and physically and sexually abused women and children. The experience left a great impact on a few aspects of my life. Right after this experience, I started a long adventure as student. I hold a B.A. in French Education, M.A. in School Adminitration, MA in Teaching Foreign Languages, and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Superintendency. While in college, I had the opportunity to play soccer for one season and represent my college at Nationals twice as a cross country runner. I have about 20 years of experience as a teacher and school administrator. I enjoy running, coaching soccer, photography, and writing among other interests.
Classroom Mission: First, my goal is to create a comfortable warm atmosphere where students are not only learning English but also developing their social skills and building confidence. Second, I would like to support the school and district's ESL mission and vision regarding students' language development and performance on local and state tests and exams. Finally, I would like to help our ESL students learn and undertand better our school and country cultures.
