Introduction
It's fun to watch penguins waddle
and toboggan across the snow, but do all penguins live in snow? Have
you ever seen a picture of penguins with polar bears ? To learn more about
penguins, you and your partner will research a specific penguin (There
are 17 kinds!) and create a page for our class HyperStudio project.
The Task
While reading Mr. Popper's Penguins,
we have asked ourselves many questions about penguins. To answer
these questions you and your partner will:
-
research one type of penguin;
-
write a summary of your research;
-
find a picture of the penguin;
-
add your summary and picture to the
class HyperStudio project.
The Process
-
First you and a partner will be assigned
one of the seventeen penguins to research on the Internet.
-
You need to find information on each
penguin concerning habitat, diet, size, markings, and interesting facts.
Print and complete the Research
Worksheet.
-
While completing your research, be
sure to save a picture to the penguin folder on the desktop.
-
Then, write a paragraph summarizing
the information you found on the Internet using Microsoft Works.
-
Nest, add your information to the
class HyperStudio project.
-
Finally, present your completed HyperStudio
page to the class.
