If you wake up and it’s snowing, or there’s snow on the ground:
1. Turn on one of the TV or radio stations listed here or check the ISS webpage. A decision on whether to close schools will be made by 6 a.m. Announcements will be made as early as possible.

2. If it looks as if roads will clear after early morning, an announcement may be made that schools will open one or two hours late. Bus schedules will reflect the delay.

3. If schools are closed for the day, school day care centers are closed. If schools open late, before school care will operate as usual.

What if it starts snowing during the day?
1. Turn on one of the TV or radio stations listed here or check the ISS webpage. An announcement will be broadcast as soon as a decision to close schools is made.

2. If schools close early because of snow, bus riders will be brought home as usual. Parents of car riders must pick up their children from school immediately.

3. School day care will not be open if schools close early.

Where do I get school closing info?
1. All TV and radio stations serving Iredell County will be notified of school closings and it will be posted on the ISS webpage.

2. We cannot be responsible for how the media report this information, so we recommend monitoring several stations and the ISS webpage.
