Vision: South Iredell High School will be a Top Ten high school in North Carolina.

Mission: Our highly qualified faculty, in partnership with all stakeholders, will promote diverse educational opportunities in an active, safe, and supportive environment.

Demographics: South Iredell serves 815 students. Our student demographics include 77% Caucasian students, 12% African American students, 5% Hispanic students, and 3% other subgroups. We have 23% of our students who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch Services and 12% who are classified as Exceptional Children. Our students include residents from South Statesville, Troutman, and part of Southern Iredell County. Since South Iredell is the smallest of 5 high schools in Iredell County, we have the advantages of a small learning community.

Program Offerings: South Iredell offers to our ninth through twelfth graders the four North Carolina Courses of Study: Career, College/Tech Prep, College/University Prep, and Occupational. South Iredell provides a district-wide classroom for Severe/Profound students. We offer career pathways in the following career/technical vocations: Business, Family & Consumer Science, Agriculture, Masonry, Automotive, Allied Health, and Drafting. Additionally, we offer Fine Arts and JROTC pathways. Unique elements of South Iredell include: publication of “IE” literary magazine; two vocational teachers recognized in N.C. as Top 5 in their area; school-initiated wellness program; relationship with the Town of Troutman; relationships with Youth and Adult Athletic community programs; Haunted School at Halloween; Craft Fair at Christmas; Teacher Cadet student course; “Honors” distinction in JROTC program; Freshman Mentors/Buddies; Renaissance academic recognition program; competitive Band, Chorus, and Drama programs; Award-Winning student newspaper the “Southwind;” variety of Virtual High School courses; variety of AP course offerings; and active student groups such as Peer, PATH, DREAM, student council, athletic teams and clubs.
